"3-2-1 LOS!" is a well-established video based package for introducing German to early learners. It offers a significant cultural element and strong support for the non-specialist teacher.

ELL is a DfEE initiative managed by CILT, working in partnership with QCA, BECTa, the Central Bureau, the TTA, OFSTED and the Association for Language Learning.

3-2-1 LOS! order form

3-2-1 LOS! is a three-part series of teaching packs, each supporting at least a term's work and consisting of:

  • video for class use (each 40 mins. approx.)
  • notes for the teacher including classroom management vocabulary
  • activities across the curriculum (games, rhymes, songs etc), worksheets, flashcards and profile sheets
  • newaudio-CD of key language and pronunciation

Each unit provides the necessary vocabulary, structures and teaching strategies.

Starter Pack 1 "Wer bist du?" enables pupils to talk about themselves:

3 "Freizeit" provides pupils with vocabulary to talk about their leisure time:

"3-2-1 LOS!" is the product of a partnership between Invicta Media/ Early Start Languages, the Goethe-Institut, and Kent County Council's Arts & Libraries Department - with financial support from the EC LINGUA fund. The project drew on the generous goodwill of many individuals sharing a commitment to foreign language learning and to developing a wide cultural perspective.
